Demolition and rebuild (teardown & rebuild)

Full teardowns, or partial rebuilds that keep what’s sound, like existing basement walls, followed by a new home built to plan.

The old exterior doesn’t matter

Rotted framing, a failing exterior, a layout that never worked: none of it is a reason to give up on a great location. Demolition is simply the step between the lot you love and the house you want on it.

Full teardown or partial rebuild

Which one makes sense depends on the property, and on the plans and approvals:

  • Full teardown. On the Three-Story Custom Home project the existing two-story house was demolished and a new three-story dwelling built on the existing footprint.
  • Reuse what’s sound. On the Croydon New Build project the plans call for new construction on the existing basement walls.
  • Clear and add. On the Levittown Two-Story Addition project the carport, shed and gazebo come out to make room for a two-story addition.

What happens, in order

  1. Assess the existing structure and foundation
  2. Plans and permits, including demolition approvals from the local municipality
  3. Site safety: fencing, and utilities handled before demolition
  4. Demolition and debris removal
  5. Foundation work, then the new build with inspections along the way

Every step depends on separate written agreements, feasibility, permits and inspections. Timelines vary with all of them.
